Abstract

The goal of this project is to feed the panda by planting bamboo seeds. Our mission is to write a program for Dash to see “the panda” Dot and dropping the “seeds” balls in the cups. We came up with a way to feed the panda using legos to create a gumball machine. This makes sure that only 1 ball at a time would drop in a cup.

Introduction

We are PSG (Pretty Smart Girls). Check out our team introduction! Using team work and trying a lot of times, we were able to get it to finally work. We had to plan a lot of the tasks as a team with the help of our coach.

Materials and Methods

We used legos to create the gumball machine. Lots of bamboo, glitter, and other crafts for decorating. We also used a lot of stickies to help us see what we needed to do. Our coach helped us with organizing so they were in order to do the important stuff first.

Results

We kept track of all our experiments when we changed things in our code or when we did something to our lego gumball machine.

Our biggest challenges were: Seeing Dot, Aligning dot correctly, and the ball dropping out.

Biggest Learning:

Figuring out we should go with 2 balls instead of reloading
Using the gumball design and making it strong
Marking a starting place to fix the alignment problem
Changed from move to to move in the code so the ball would stop falling
making small changes after experiements helped

Conclusion

In conclusion we learned it was hard. While we were doing the final mission we used mission 5 as a guide.We took lots our tries to get the gumball machine right.We faced lots of challenges while we were doing the mission such as, alignment and dash wasn’t seeing dot. Things that really helped us is writing out the code in english, the ToDo list and teamwork. We thank our parents,our coach,KodeConnect and the library for making this possible.
