Girls Who Code helps close the gender gap in technology by equipping young women with computing and professional skills. Kodeconnect in partnership with the downtown DCCE Center, is hosting a year round after school program offering skills training and exposure to real-world mentorship opportunities in technology and computer science.

Each week of the program covers projects related to computer science, such as art, storytelling, robotics, video games, web sites, and apps. You’ll also hear from guest speakers, participate in workshops, connect with female engineers and entrepreneurs. The program culminates in a final project where you build your own product and share it with your class.

The focus is to bring girls grades 3rd through 5th and 6th through 12th in as groups to teach them these skills but also to gain self esteem, self confidence, new friendships, and gain a safe place to go after school.
